  1. Fair play, I have been fishing in Nambia with the locals. Even when i managed a few casts without a birds nest it would eventually always go wrong due to line lie. Then when i caught a fish and put the reel in the sand - all hell would break loose. just bought a boat rod and multiplier reel and a bit nervous to be honest. Anyway good luck, and from what i hear most of the time you can be casting over the top of the fish anyway...
  2. Are you taking the rods? No mate I will be taking the board:-)
  3. I am off to visit our french cousins in the new year and need to upgrade my tom tom xl which only has the UK maps. I am sure there must be a cost effective method out there, any help much appreciated. Cheers Mart
  4. I went into Wilkos at the weekend, but they were charging 9.95 for the head lamps. I got distracted by grass seed and forgot to look at the cycle lights. Problem is the lights are for a small border and a young lurcher, I am worried they will get whip lash if the lights are too big Anyone got any other recommendations/links, I do take you seriously I just found Traders comments amusing..
  5. Illiterate troll, Gaydog shouldn't you be hanging round your local shops rather than wasting your time annoying adults? You've been a member for 3 weeks now and I'm not a betting man, but I think you will be lucky to see the month out. Now why don't you nip along and watch those episodes of Jeremy Kyle that your social worker has sky plused for you....
  6. They look brilliant, I particularly like the one that has enough umph to lift the dog vertically 50m and then deploys the starburst and parachute. It will be great waiting for the dog to float back down to earth into my waiting arms. I don't know why I've never heard of these before. Just need to ensure the dog is clear of the woods...
  7. That sounds like a good idea trader. Have you got a web link for the flares? Also do you think I should make the reflective waistcoats out of the stuff that racing drivers wear? I thought it might help avoid any possible singeing. I had considered triaining them to come back, but your idea does seem a lot less work. Cheers Mart
  8. Can anyone recommend some decent ones. The last ones I bought were about a fiver each and rubbish. They have packed up after not much use and I want to exercise the dogs in the dark. Cheers Mart
  9. Which river you trying for the grayling Mart? How much to fish there? I am trying the Wey, the sections controlled by FAS. According to the handbook there are grayling in there but who knows... I am having a minger of a season, but then everyone else that I speak to is struggling. How are you getting on at Bushey Park? Those were the days when I lived in Teddington
  10. nice fish, I don't seem to be able to catch a cold this season then again I am out after grayling on Sat so maybe my luck will change
  11. absulutley fantastic not only make your hair stand up brings tear to your eye,s Fantastic, brightened up a friday afternoon.
  12. I posted a similar post and found someone willing to take me out. cheers poacher, you did take a chance but hopefully you are happy now that I am what I say, a normal guy with an interest in field sports. To be honest if someone was not what they said it wouldn't take long or much risk to get a whiff of it. I reckon someone will take a chance on you if you're not what you say though, you're likely to wake up in a ditch with a few bruises. Good luck
