iv tried as soon as he sees them he wants to be away but he just likes sniffing he retrieves skin to hand and he is very fast just needs the looking bit and he will be a great dog

i have a bull greyhound x bull whippet he is 7.5 month old he is keen but instead of looking for things and keeping his eyes up off the floor he is constantly sniffing and due to this has missed lots of rabbits could someone tell me why this is please???
