  1. Back late last year I decided I was in the "need" for a firearm that was well able to get me out too 800+ yds for some casual target shooting and also a bit of deer stalking aswell......I have been a big fan of the 300 win mag for a long time so off I went to Southern Rifle and Optics in Kilkenny armed with a HS precision varmint stock inletted for a long action rem 700 (that I purchased from Sean Harding at Stakelums Gun and Rod in Thurles) for a chat with John Greene(riflesmith) about my new project I had in mind....Well after a few hours of trading Ideas and many pots of coffee John was abl
  2. Its the real deal Mr L. Not as easy to get licenced as a bolt c.f over here but well worth the torment... I saw this on the remington site about a year ago and thought" I would love one of those" but never thought that they would be allowed over here.... Four months ago I saw one in the local gun shop and I bought it the next day.. took about 3 weeks to get the licence sorted but its in the safe now...
  3. Your sound Codie.....just between you and I...(its the other lad) Happy hunting mate. Dwight Subtly put Dwighet Hope your well SS P.S. Thread cleaned. Good on ya mate....How you been? All good here in Eire....Getting plenty of Trigger time...the deer season is minding me well.... and John has got me back into the fox shooting.... I gave up on the fox a while back... but have the weekend booked out on a few farms... hopefully the weather holds and I get a few... Be good mate and keep up the good work
  4. Your sound Codie.....just between you and I...(its the other lad) Happy hunting mate. Dwight
  5. Thanks Marie...It was a Hare raising adventure indeed. A great piece of the world you have out west there...Ill be back..
  6. John was definatly eyeing off the rifle sounder...I will have to get back there and let him put a few down range to show him how it really performs..I reckon I could could convert him from bolt action to semi auto
  7. Crackin looking rifle that, would definitley be on my christmas list. Thanks Dave... Its a cracking rifle...I had my doubts when i bought it...but it proved me wrong... Im lucky enough to get 1/2 inch groups @ 100 yds with factory ammo out of it..... Not so bad for a mass produced semi auto....
  8. [ FOXES always look bigger in the winter, weigh them 1st and you will see if they are big Thanks for the tip. ..must remember to bring my scales next time out shooting foxes in the winter.. In all fairness. Do lads actually take scales to weigh foxes whilst out in the field.
  9. Thats the plan...its getting threaded for a t8 next month and the barrel cut so the t8 sits flush against the gas port on top of the barrel... will be sweet then.
  10. Nice varmint gun, Is that a straight pull or semi? Thanks...Its a semi...5 shot mag.22 inch barrel. 1 in 9 twist

  15. Collin.......... 7mm08 How may time do I have to tell ya If you get a 243 your not shooting Sika wit me again.....A rutting sika stag would laugh it off mate.. Now im just winding you up mate so relax all you 243 shooters....only mess`n If you can get a 7mm08 seriously take it in to consideration...ballistically its better than the 308 and packs a lot more punch than the 243 and mild on the recoil....
