  4. am thinking at the moment of going down this route with a full grey for lamping / ferreting. Im just wondering if they are entered like an ordinary lurcher will they be just as capable. I like the idea of that full on attitude and action they can provide dispite theryre obvious lacking in other areas ie wind wha do youse think ? wha bout a whippet greyhound ? would there be much difference with both sight hound blood. If it goes ok ull have a very good base for a top class lurcher.
  5. always toyed with the idea of rearing a greyhound pup as a lurcher. i wonder with the right rearing would it work out ? what youse reckon.
  6. ya need stayers in england for the big ground plenty of saluki. In ireland u need more drive and speed to keep them off heavy ditches and gates. Id say the english bred dogs would find it hard to put enough pressure on them to keep them off obstacles and stuff. ive seen that type of dog run in ireland and its a bollax to try and run to whatch a hunt but thats not to say they wouldnt do ok. With th faster dog and less lung u can see more of a hunt in 2 or 3 fields which suits me better but u couldnt take em to england unless u give em short slips. would like to know if there are any that cou
  7. is it not the case that most of the coursing blood ie saluki has been diluted between english and irish dogs. is it not a bit stupid taliking about english and irish dogs when im sure irish bitches have been lined with english dogs and vice versa. as someone said the salukis came from the middle east f**k all irish there. The bigger the feilds the more saluki needed english, tighter feilds more greyhound irish. prob talkn balls but there u go.
  8. therell be no lack of boot there mate good luck
  9. Dam is saluki/harrier hound/greyhound Sire is 5/8ths harrier hound/greyhound Both dam and sire 100% lampers and daytime hares. Sire also will take fox. Litter bred for own use, sire and dam can be seen. £100 each Pups now 2 weeks - if interested PM me. More pictures available if interested.
  10. harrier hound crosses roughly 5/8ths half decent dogs
  11. Trying this to see if I have attached file correctly. This should be a picture of my son with an Irish hare, judge for yourself the size - which doesn't matter anyway.
