  1. Over 90 copies of SHOOTING TIMES magazine (2008-2010), free to a good home. Seems a shame to throw them in the bin and I don't even have an open fire! Postage is not really an option as the bundle is quite heavy (unless you wish to pay for it) so you will need to collect from either BD4 or NE28 areas. Please drop me a pm if you would like them.
  2. Yep, I'll second that. He is a good guy and always willing to help you.(Aaron that is)
  3. IN-BOX is full mate. Regards, Pete
  4. Great write up. Tis a virtue and your persistence paid of. Well done indeed. Regards, Pete. ps. You know a guy named "Tets"? drop me a pm if yes.
  5. WEHEYYY! Sorted!! Out of desperation I did the following, some of the actions were repeated but I wanted to be sure I had tried everything before I marched back into the shop. Removed the scope and mounts and split the rings, removed, split and cleaned then re-assembled the moderator, removed the stock to make sure there was nothing between the action and stock. Gave every thing a good clean and put it back together. I was going to put my leupolds on but tested the parker hales 3-12 x 50 on my fac rapid and they were fine so I wound the adjusters to max elevation and drop as well as left and
  6. Many thanks to all who replied, conflicting advice or otherwise, it is all very much appreciated. Mattydski, many thanks for the answer about the floating barrel, that is what I needed to know. Thanks again all, Pete
  7. Hi all, I am having a spot of bother getting decent grouping from my .22lr, as above it is the cz452-2e, If I am measuring right it has the 20" barrel and I have fitted a jls stalker mod onto that. Tried to set it up from new at 50yds and was surprised at the result, the inch circle was peppered with a 1.75" 5 shot group. I stuck at it making sure my technique was ok but 40 rounds later not much better at all, gave it a pull through with the bore snake just in case and brought the range down to 25 yards, wound up to 12 mag and had another crack. 5 shot groups again with the odd shot on shot a
  8. Cheers for the information Seeker. Will have a crack at the bunnies this weekend but the foxes will be getting a stay of execution till the land is passed (or not) for C/F. Regards, Pete
  9. Yep, that's the same scenario, had my faith was renewed though due to the efficient response from the force where the land is. It seems that my local force could learn a thing or two from them! Pete
  10. I had already tried to contact them and had no joy at all. Just tried again and spoke to a great lady. They are checking 3 plots for me but she read from the paperwork that they only received the request on 2nd Feb!!!. She said it usually takes a maximum of 4 weeks but has taken my mobile number and said she will inform me directly so I don't have to wait for the info to be passed to my force. One plot needs a serious dose of bunny bashing but I was told it had not been passed for any calibre, this was the one I was really waiting for and she told me that according to the database it was alrea
  11. Hello All, Could anyone with experience of having land checks done please tell me how long it usually takes? Still waiting from before Christmas. Is this usual? I had a note in with my ticket saying that the application for the checks had been made to the relevant force and I would be informed in due course but still no news. I would appreciate your views. Regards, Pete
  12. Well everything seemed to go fine, some probs with two bits of land but I will be asking for help on a seperate thread. Looks like I will be getting everything I wanted but despite a fairly good portfolio and references I could not get an open cert, he said 18 months so lets see how I get on. For some reason he was more concerned with my shotty experience than a .308?? but hey I am not complaining (yet) Despite what I have read about about West Yorks being a pain in the hoop, the guy was absolutely fine, helpful to a fault, open and straight forward. I don't think I could expect anything more
  13. Great post, Can just imagine the uproar if we did that over here! Laughed like hell at the casual "stabbed myself twice though" remark, Sure you didn't laugh though. It just shows the difference in the ways we hunt a similar species on another continent. Obviously the sheer size of the place you hunt means you're well away from other folk, affraid we dont have many places like that over here so we have to adapt our methods to suit our surroundings and what is deemed as acceptable. I have relatives over there in NSW, a place called Padstow Heights, must get over one day, I have heard loads of
