How do you know "it could do with power knocking up" ? Have you had it chronographed? From your blatent inexperience when it comes to shooting, I presume you don't possess a FAC? Don't go trying to bang up the power levels if you don't know what you're doing. It won't make the gun any more accurate and may land you with a lengthy prison sentance. Ryan.

You're looking at a S/H BSA Lightning or Weihrauch HW95K scoped for that money. Take a look on www.airgunbbs.com for some good secondhand deals.

Haha, I know which I'd pick. The HW100 is a superb rifle but a 97K and beer/kebab money for a few month is a far more attractive proposition to me.

You could get a S/H HW100 with scope and bottle for around £500-£600. Such a lovely gun. Or save yourself some money and get a good quality HW97K springer and save the rest.
