  1. I suppose they injured themselves trying to get away, tripped over dogs, ...karma!!
  2. Probably go legal for illegal assault by dog owner, lads were probably only taking dogs for a walk cos they luv um.....
  3. Will keep an eye around Leinster area, but generally thieves will keep dogs they steal well hidden. They do particularly like dogs that are ready to work, none of that rearing, training and entering for them, that takes time, effort and ability as opposed to just being a thief, different skill set entirely.
  4. There are very nice wax jackets for Lurchers by Barbour out there....though I'm not sure the green Hunter wellies come in the right size.......!

  6. Very stupid for Irish coursing Club to bring any negative publicity to any form of hunting.....what goes around, comes around
  7. Generally will be in and around parents size, I have found they mostly follow the sire myself, however you always can get throwbacks to a previous ancestor, so really just wait, because nothing is cast in stone when pups are from cross breeds with a big mix in the pedigree...
  8. To put these press reports in context Many of people involved in this kind of illegal coursing are members of the travelling community poaching on the preserves of the local coursing club, the clubs can never say that they are nurturing or trying to protect the hares for their sport, as it draw the 'antis' on them As well as being a lifetime Lurcher man, I have been a member of a park coursing club for many years, and there are very strict rules on running a coursing meeting from the point of view number of hares per courses etc, hares are netted for up to 2 months prior to the meeti
  9. Do first cross wheaten pups from wheaten sire and greyhound dam follow sire in colour always or occasionally, have bred bedlington to sight hounds and they have always without fail, followed the sires blue colour and very occasionally liver but never, ever the dams colour whatsoever,
  10. Relatively new on here, but I imagine this kind of destructive behaviour has always gone on, damage is done by people that don't stay in the sport for long haul, but whilst involved, they have to kill the most game of all types, have the fastest and keenest dogs, do the most damage and bugger off and leave other people to take the heat for their actions......Nothing changes. Landowners come in all guises, some decent, some p****ks, but possession being 9/10ths of the law, they will always have the law on their side...... unless you have written permission, you have nothing and no rights,
  11. Fieldsports will always be on back foot, as numbers will always tell and the numbers are in the cities, Very few living in cities, (even if they originally derived from a rural or hunting background) will support Fieldsports, they become domesticated......like cattle,........... programmes like above will always feed into the beautiful and receptive minds of these kind, gentle and dumb folk. I think that a huge amount of negative attention is drawn to the sport by gobshites sharing images and videos on social media,....I know Park Service in Ireland monitor Facebook for anything incri
  12. Fantastic performers.....whippet seriously switched on..!
