  1. Thanks Lanesra, no it's the same spot, just some kind of artifact on the screen or something hanging down in front of the lense Note the rats on the left in all the shots.
  2. Bought one recently and used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago at a permission where the landowner suspected he had a fox on the prowl around the farm. I bought the Acorn 6210mc and it's a doddle to use. Left it for a couple of nights with some dead rats as bait. Very handy piece of kit. You can set it to film or photo and buy the sim add-on so it sends you pics via SMS if you want. And here he is
  3. Generally correct. But if a FEO has deemed a piece of land unsuitable for anything above .17 hmr and you knowingly used a larger caliber, even with an open ticket, you are treading on thin ice. I don't normally disagree with you, but that's definitely incorrect. With an open ticket you can shoot where YOU deem safe (with permission of course). What the FEO deems safe is irrelevant, The conditions on your FAC clearly state this. I'm talking about land which a FEO has visited and dreamed unsafe for a specific caliber. Try it, shoot on a permission you know a FEO has deamed unsafe for a
  4. Better illumination tends to result in less pixellation up to a point, but it does become a case of diminishing returns after a while. I'd say you could certainly improve the image given with the T20 by using a relatively cheap sunnranger (t38 with a yokon 3x42 lens screwed on the front). There's a vid on how to make one on the Drone Pro Facebook page.
  5. I use a Foxpro inferno and I'm happy with it now. Had to junk a lot of the MP3 files that came with it because a lot of them are US type calls. The programme for installing new MP3 is a bit clunky but ok when you get the hang of it. Got a good collection stored on it now and can use the remote without looking at the buttons, which is handy as I can keep the backlight hidden if Charlie's close.
  6. It is genuine Eddie, I believe it was initiated by a young apprentice Gamekeeper in the face of yet another petition from the usual gang of militants trying to ban DGS (I think the last one is the third, Packham, Avery and other assorted anti-shooting militants). On the plus side Parliament recently debated the most recent 'ban DGS' petition (as it reached over 100,000 signatures) and it was thoroughly routed. If you've got an hour spare I thoroughly recommend having a read through the debate transcript, it's a refreshing condemnation towards those who do not understand the benefits shooting a
  7. Hi all, many of you are probably already aware of this, and possibly have already signed - but just in case, please sign https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/164851
  8. 600 for me. Picked up 300 Vmax today to take me to my limit - £15 per 50.
  9. If it's new stock it may be the fall in sterling against the dollar is having an impact? Still having a mare trying to source HMR ammo around here. Got a 100 mile round trip to stock up today - my two local RFDs are still short or out. One won't sell what he has left as he wants it for when he sells a rifle, and the other is down to his last 500 of Winchesters (which don't perform as well against the CCI-made stuff such as Vmax or Remington, for me at least). Tried a back-to-back test with Rem and Winchester yesterday afternoon and the current batch of Winchesters I've got were shocking. 3" PO
  10. Hi Ian, thanks for the link. Yes I agree only switching it on when you're about to take the shot is the key.
  11. Well, it works. It outputs at 5.5v and has additional over-volt protection, and is relatively compact. The EPS3 and the Reg both fit into the pocket on the butt pouch (which is on there with some padding underneath to raise the comb for the drone anyway), so not had to put anything additional on. All I need now is another EPS3, which seem to have become a bit of a pain to get hold of. The one in the pic is being used by the spotter. I've ordered one from Micro Globe who advised a 72 hour dispatch . . we shall see. That said I have noticed a BIG difference in battery usage depending on the batt
  12. Hi Ian, thanks for the tips, much appreciated. I know what you mean regarding extra weight etc, I'm eager to have a good reliable back-up though so thought I'd give this a try. Yes I've got a Pulsar XD38s thermal for spotting. That's where I usually have the EPS3 on. If all goes well I'll be ordering another from you. Thanks again.
  13. Hi all, battery issue is becoming a bit of a bind on the Drone. I'm one of those who likes to go a night without faffing about so need to get on top of the battery usage. The drone's a bit of a battery whore, best ones I've found are the Duracell Lithium Ion ones but at £7 a pair it's not a viable solution for this winter's usage. I've got a couple of made-up packs that use 5 AA rechargeable batteries but it still seems to have a bit of an appetite for them . Sooooo, I'm (or should I say an electronics company) are going to sort out a cable to run the drone off one of Pulsar's fab EPS3 pac
  14. Thanks Stuart. Sold. Drop me a PM thanks. PM on way.
