  2. Having just got home from a funeral of old teacher, i was wondering if any of you have had good recollections from your past, don't want to know about the bad ones other wise we could be here for eternity . This old boy was something else, first off he could be as tough as they come, hard but fair, he gave up his lunch times to teach me how to cast a fly rod, i would take the ferret to school and spend time in the school wood nailing rabbits then be late back for his woodwork or tech drawing lesson, he would play fck not cause i was late but because i hadn't asked him to go with me.

Watched it last night... few things..were exactly as I thought..a few young lads who obviously were not right in the head and have mental issues... second was they were showing locating equipment which men who work within the LAW actually need ...its an offence when doing LEGAL fox control with a terrier not to use one..third the bbc did not seek an interview with any law abiding terrier federations which would have totally condemned All INDIVIDUALS... and put the record STRAIGHT...these people the bbc put on display last night were not TERRIER MEN .. they were psychopaths with absolutely no

If it ever comes around again which I doubt it will be all the same unanswered questions from the snp and stir up more divisions and hatred between Scots. If you lose against it will be the same retorect from nationalists calling the other side traitors blah blah blah. If you win the other side will not be listened to as you badgered and schemed ignored democracy to get the result you wanted. The division will last for decades and when it goes all tits up you're Snp heirachy will not be affected and will Blame everyone els

There's too many wannabees and fame seekers around nowadays all wanting to make a name for themselves or get a mention in a book one day and they wonder why they get nicked, there was some kid on here not long ago challenging someone he never met to come and see his so called "hard dogs" work for f**k sake. Oh and I didn't see the reporter running over to see how the poor cub was the shithouse, and that c**t with the spade needs it smashing over his head.

  23. The one that I remember is a little old Scottish chap called Mr Semple - he was my form tutor and my English teacher in my first year at secondary school. If the truth be told, I was such a little c**t at that time that, he would've been well within his rights to write me off but, he never did. ....... He hung in there with me, despite the amount of chairs and tables that I threw around classrooms. Whenever I got suspended, he always gave a lift home - he was always trying to learn Russian with a tape in his car. His wife passed maybe 20yrs ago now, he

Man cannot beat the elements only do his best to work around what happens on the day,as Nathan says getting closer the old man v beast is all part of the challenge .And as Philpot says we will never be free of wind in this country as any caravanner whose been to Lincolnshire will agree it get,s a tad breezy that way on. There will always be defender,s of both calibre,s and both have there, use,s so to me the simple choice is apply for both and enjoy using them atb

  26. In windy conditions one has to simply get closer, that is sage advice for any calibre. Shooting at great distances is man and machine playing dice with the elements. Getting closer to quarry is man verses beast, in that light any rifle will do , relatively speaking. U.

  29. We've been using gas BBQ's for about 15 years now, got p1ssed off with the clean up of the charcoal ones. Ours gets used about 4-5 times per week, even in the winter as it's under cover. You still get the BBQ taste with the gas as the fats drip onto the heat diffuser and instantly combusts, thus imparting the flavour to whatever is cooking. It's situated about 12 feet from the oven in the kitchen, but again, there's the clean up of the oven etc. Much easier to to fire up the BBQ, cleaning consists of just a couple of strokes of the wire brush. You don't have to wait 45 minutes or so for

  35. When it hits triple digits here it's too hot to use the oven inside. The heat warms the house and its a constant fight between that and the air conditioning. When it hits harsh negatives in the winter it's nice to stand around the fire. We'll grill at least 4 days a week. Cast iron will rust if you don't season it. After every grill, I'll season. I have a can of bacon grease in the fridge and I'll slather it on the grill plates while it's cooling down. Even here where the climate is desert any moisture will get at the iron. Anywhere like Blighty or Aus, the problem gets more urgent the cl

  36. What Ted said... I've been in the US for 10 years. It isn't England but neither is England anymore. I'll visit now and again but when people ask me what England is like I say that it's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Looking back I don't miss being skint and being told what to do all the time. Full-time move might not be a great idea if you get homesick when you're on hols. It's an expensive do to immigrate. Maybe a rural a move a little further from where you are?

  40. my guess and its only a guess is it ,s more down to the ground than the rabbit after all the stock you have in oz came from this country we rabbit on softer ground that favour,s the dog that said you get a run on a well kept golf course when there.s been no rain and they take a fair bit of catching
    2 points
  41. The ground makes the difference, rabbit on bare ground or very short grass can run a lot faster than one on longer tussocky grass.

  49. Only two places come to mind, South island New Zealand. For the freedom, unspoilt country and wild basic lifestyle. Same acreage as the UK and barely more than 5% the population! The public lands and hunting rights are amazing. Tahr hunting in the southern alps (fjiordland) is my dream hunt. Chamois in the foothills. Stags in the bush. Pig hunting with dogs. Duck flighting etc etc. Just looks such an amazing place and is so often on my mind. Literally thinking about the place half hour ago in the gym. Other place would be Idaho/Wyoming US. Same reasons. Utterly breathtaking country.

Talked about moving to Austria with my ex, obviously that ain't happening now ? Truly I have no idea but I will say this. Living abroad in one place for a time, definitely opens your mind to being able to live wherever you fancy
