I think lance and wiggins should get extra respect for doing so well while on drugs, I tried cycling home from a mates house while full of drugs once and I ended up upside down in a bush.13 points

Well today was a session I wont be forgetting in a while. I thought I would give my local golf course another go this morning, after having a look around in the snow yesterday for warrens. There seems to be plenty of warrens about the place, but a majority seem to be empty, unlike years ago, where the place was alive with rabbits. Ive only had this permission for 6 weeks, and it seems to be much more of a struggle than doing paddocks/agricultural land which im used to. All the small patches of gorse that has holes in them dont seem to hold anything, but the big expanses have a few, but they ar7 points

I was a heroin addict for the best part of ten years (been clean 15+ years now)and i lost everything i had due to it so i know what i'm talking about with addition and if i can help a single person sort themselves out then my shit time wasn't so wasted..Just don't put all you got into it Blackmaggie as like i say he may well mess it up once or twice and he'll feel shit for doing so and letting folk down, but just be there to help him off his knees mate as just knowing there was someone who gave a fcuk held me on this planet more than once when i could see no light at the end of the tunnel..The6 points

Had my youngest lad today and we have been snowed in for a few days. I asked him what he wanted to do today.....skate park? Bike ride? No Dad can we take the dogs out!! We headed to a bit of ground that holds a few rabbits and not many people go there. The busher was on fire and the lurcher was struggling to keep up. Haven’t been here for a while so we had a few more bolts than normal. A range of cover from thick brambles to tall grass and bracken. Lurcher was marking well and needless to say the lad had a great time. A few good runs and a couple of decent catches. Perfect afternoon. ATB5 points

If the dog is staying there aint too much more to know or am I wrong all these years. I like to get a spade between combatants to save injuries but others seem to revel in combat Seen some bad choices when a dog us stuck fast, pulling tails and legs the wrong angle .Dogs tails aint for pulling despite all the old books saying so and legs need to be manoevred so as to put no strain on the back or rib cage .The whole removal needs to go with the dog not against it5 points

Theyre all cheating c**ts. If they didnt, they wouldnt keep up with the rest of them.5 points

I dont think you can look at in terms of “flogging a dead horse”........you will be the person you are and do what you do, what the person you have thrown a chance to then chooses to do is totally out of your control. If it’s in your nature to help folk then that’s what you do, sounds like you are the type of bloke who is happier to know you did what you could even if it leads nowhere because you wouldn’t feel right if you did nothing. Few more like that required in the world mate.5 points

Maybe I'm just complacent but at the age of 52 I aint needing to learn much more nor have I in the last 20 years .I was lucky in the the chap I first went out with was as laid back as I am about the whole deal .No need to run about with the box ,no need to listen at holes and no need for needless talk. Dig the hole to match the depth and try to break through just behind the dog .Backfill tube behind dog if animal is to be despatched .This is where I've seen things go from bad to worse.5 points

True but he still could be if people understood how sports work at this level. It's a multi-billion pound industry. All this Disney level PR about clean athletes is stomach churning.4 points

It's not been as bad as you read mate, the weather has,nt got any harder but the people a lot softer, surprisingly hard to walk in snow in skinny jeans tucked into socks, daps and a Tshirt, I was fine in a decent pair of boots coat and my thermals and when there is no bread in the shop as every fuckwit has bought a years worth I just bought a bag of flower and made a loaf, we have become a soft ass nanny state were everyone cries to the government for answers to everything instead of just sorting themselves out, you probably have more snowfall overnight than we have had all winter difference be4 points

Ground zero is Honestly one of the most moving and emotionally charged places I have visited. the museum built around the original foundations and filled with many recovered pieces was a very heavy few hours, then going up the new trade centre showed the progress made... after visiting I could never buy into conspiracy theories, it would feel like disrespecting those who died... it was a terror site attack in my mind, perhaps that just sits best with me4 points

Don't recon he'll go out his way to mug you off mate, but a addict will sometimes fcuk folk off with their fcuk ups.. Folks think it's easy to just stop but try stop thinking about hunting and put dogs, guns or what ever you do out your life and then carry on and your'll see it ain't so easy to change the way you not only live but the whole way you think..Nice one for giving him a chance and i do hope he gets himself through his dark days...4 points

Had a walk around topping up some of the squirrel feeders late afternoon . As i thought not a lot of squirrels about , which is not surprising after the weather we have had and haven't been able to get over to top feeders up. Few pigeons about and managed to get a few after giving up on the squirrels . Bit of awkward place to shoot in these woods with new tree shoots coming up everywhere3 points

I went to town earlier with the mrs and as I walked a passed a ginnel between two pubs i heard my name shouted out he's my old mate who I grew up with last time I spoke with him a couple of years ago he had a nice house and a successful business he told me how his life and business had gone since losing a couple of contracts he's turned to drink and his wife's left him we have paid for him for 3nights in a bb while my nephew who's in property sorts him a flat am I flogging a dead horse in your lads experience because he has said he does want help but its so hard to get it there's even a job3 points

Nowt changed by my end like other then the local shop didn't have any copies of the sun which I'm sure nobody gave a f**k about! People were out in there shorts on bikes the lot even when it was coming down hard, but we are Geordies and a few of us don't have full brain cells3 points

My bitch is 10,noticed about a year ago she was slowing down couldn't keep weight on her outside, so brought her in the house-seems to of made her soft lol, she's still handy for a spot of ferreting and marking fox for the terriers, she don't like the cold and rain these days, first time yesterday I had to lift her over fences that she would of cleared in her prime...... Shame they got to get old...... Such is life...... They will let you know when they have had enough. ?3 points

It's the same argument played out in a lot of these scenarios. Why didn't a 757 punch a comedy sized plane hole in the building? Why didn't the CCTV pick up a 500mph plane? Etc... This had never happened before so arguing from hindsight on something that had never been considered up to that point is frankly baffling. I look at my companies procedures and the majority of them are from an incident and came after the fact. The question "What Amount Of Evidence Would It Take To Sway Your Opinion" has yet to be answered but with topics like this it could be any thread about religion, evol3 points

Indeed. Though I wouldn’t let all that cloud my objectivity. I should have taken loads more photos and videos. As I’m sure you can remember one area photos are banned. As tempting as it was to sneak some, it’s a very respectful place.3 points

Crox-sticks with ceramic rods are good for honing and touch ups but you'll be fighting a uphill battle if your edge needs even a small re-grind. I found them brilliant for an old knife I had that was made from Sandvik steel (same as stainless Moras) but shite for a Midnight carbon steel. Maybe just me? I've got and used the lanski sharpening jig system thing. It'll give you a decent shaving edge but is a bit limited. Now I use a pair of soft and hard Arkansas oil stones. Them things sharpen everything of every grind type to a very nice hair popping edge. Now, I'd probably advise3 points

Best advice I've ever had is never to lose your temper. There will be times when theres steam coming out of your ears but if you can control yourself you'll have a better dog in the end. I've been beating for the first time this year and am amazed at how some shooters treat their spaniels, if I did that to my 2 they wouldn't come near me.3 points

I’ve got the 4 rod turn box but I don’t use the box to set the angles , I just use the croc sticks freehand and my knives are shaving sharp . They are proper easy to use and it doesn’t take long to put a razor edge on them . The sticks do need cleaning every now and then but Lansky do an eraser or you can use soapy water and a sponge .3 points

Jess and I had a small session under roosting woodies. As the bitter easterly turned into mild southern breeze it was nice to be out. We ended up with six woodies, a crow and a squirrel. I won't discuss the shot count but I had a jolly good old banging session (watch it!). Here is soggy Jess on squirrel watch. U.2 points
