  1. Found these old photos of Bill, Doug and Stan when we were at Bill's place, he is holding a dog that he gave me. The photos of the terriers are non-descript northern working terriers photos taken around 1979, the black small lurcher is one of the best lamping dogs I ever had and tough as old boots.

  2. Well, everyone can say what they like.....I communicated with the man a few times via PM and he always came across as a respectful, stand up bloke. Ill say this, he is a million in front of some of the petty little childish pricks that have graced this forum over the years. I also beleive he was generous to total strangers off this forum without ever asking for a thing in return.

I seriously doubt he would beat anyone off here up, if he who I think he is , he will likely be off for a nice long sunny holiday as soon as he steps out of the gates, occupatonal hazard I guess you could call it, I seriously doubt like most who come on here that he will give too much more thought to what is said etc than anyone else would, why would he , its a forum that attracts allsorts of people hunting itself is a very diverse sport, the man in question had what seemed to be a latent interest in hunting and working dogs, pigeons, aviary birds and liked a bit craic about boxing, footie a

  9. I don't put much on here lads mainly due to most of my trapping taking place before sunlight. Life is busy, and I suppose you gotta do what ya gotta do. Just thought I'd share this little concept, that might be beneficial to some of you. It's nothing new, in fact it's very simple, but works very well. It's all about the importance of location, and how you can make it benificial to your trapping success. Seeking and finding that one spot where every target animal will go. I'm talking mink here, but the same concept can be used for many other animals, including rats. Alot of us do this all

  11. It's not often I get out with an airgun more the pity, but when I do I have a grand time. It's good getting back to the way I started as a teenager. Using excite hammers, a H&N looking made pellet I got five in the bag stalking roosting birds. It was good to see so many in a favourite wood of mine, a boggy mixed woodland that no-one visits except me and Jess. Sorry I don't contribute much in the airgun section but know this, I love a spot of airgunning, it's in the blood. U.

Up at 4 45 Monday to Saturday, hang on the back and prep crates , drop off street at a time , double on saturday mornings , finish at 0800 toast slices straight into school at 0900 , all for the princely sum of 20 a week! I was rapid though, won the interschool x country at 13 with a time of 26 mins dead over 4 miles, my mams proudest moments ever ! absolutely raped the running club 16 year olds round the course ha ha I have that exact blue Fila jacket still! My little girl has the ones with the toy car in for school at the moment

  14. It was part of my early teens as well, interspersed with paper rounds. Had a couple of milk yards quite local to me and you just turned up early (well early) and asked if anyone needed a hand. If you were efficient they would ask you to help on a weekly basis but if you let them down once, you were gone. Used to enjoy it and the cash came in handy.

  15. I am still hanging my hams from last year. The last pig went in December 2016. These hams were left in brine for 3 weeks then hung in January. I got them down in August and sliced them using a butcher's knife. The meat was nice but not quite there. I took samples round to friends and they were impressed I have re-hung the meat and will test it again in January. I think the Italians and French hang it in caves for 3 years. So a Yorkshire spare bedroom isn't quite the same. A Pig Clubber (member not executioner) has bought a meat slicer from Argus for about £30. It is

  24. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions and at the end of the day it's the last 5 or 6 generations that are more important than terriers that were alive 40 plus years ago. But, having read just about everything that's ever been wrote about those 2 gentlemen and having seen or in my possession plenty of pedigrees of their terriers I would be surprised in Cyril Breay ever used a bull terrier or a terrier he knew had bull in it. Frank Buck on the other hand seemed to be a bit more of a maverick and might have, but again, I've never seen any evidence that he did. But I could be wrong ?

Could not have put it better my self Mitch raptor ,,,some times a rifle sitting at ,,,lets say 10,30 is more accurate than a rifle sitting at 11,30 at the end of the day you want the pellet to go where your aiming so its lights out in an instant get some pellet testing packs and see what your rifle likes stick a target up at your zero and start hitting the paper and see what gives you the best groups then see if a 5p will cover them groups if it dose your set to go with the pellets that gave them groups atvbmac

  32. Mrs went to a meeting of old biddies. Its some sort of club where they get together and sometimes have a visiting speaker. Last night there was a speaker talking about her job as a sexual health nurse. I was pulling her leg about it before she went, saying all the old biddies will enjoy being shocked..keep them affronted and muttering for weeks. She said I'm very broad minded, it will take a lot to shock me. So she comes home and is very quiet. Then she spills the beans. Apparently it's not chlamidia queens or pox or hiv which takes up her working day. It's young girls who have weird infection

  35. So would the training courses, carcass disposal and risk assessments at a guess etc. A nation of utterly pathetic fannies has led to this imo. The government are so terrified of anything going wrong and the bad press they have over-engineered the shite out of it. On a slightly different note, I'm more interested to see what the studies show the effect on hedghog and lapwing (etc) populations is than TB.

Many years later , he knocked into one of his mates in the pub and spilled his drink, his mate gave him the most savage reply I've ever heard "typical , last time you didn't look where you were going you destroyed that poor mans holi
