  1. Well, everyone can say what they like.....I communicated with the man a few times via PM and he always came across as a respectful, stand up bloke. Ill say this, he is a million in front of some of the petty little childish pricks that have graced this forum over the years. I also beleive he was generous to total strangers off this forum without ever asking for a thing in return.

  2. Had my godson Matt over for the weekend, he was hell bent on a bit of hunting... not wanting to be a let down, me and fin had him lamping last night. The dogs ran well not much out but Fergie had 3 runs and 3 rabbits, Martha had a couple of runs for 1.. Matt was slipping Martha and Fin lamped a couple.. great stuff from the kids. up 7 this morning for a mornings ferreting, picked up a nice bit of new permission, the woman farmer is great and joined us for a couple of hours and was really hands on.. she kept lurchers for years and is a proper country woman, I've had a couple of cups of co

  3. Out this morning with a battle plan in mind, to climb out high onto the tops and push any rabbits down into the heather beds below, I drew the short straw,so off I went up and up and up again, this was taken half way up, on my way there were rabbits running all over this lime stone scree bed, they know there safe here, after a lung busting, leg burning, trip I reached the top to be met by rabbits cascading down the fell side right into the deep heather beds below, so far so good. I slowly started to make my way down and soon had the both baskets of longnets ran out round the heather,

  4. Well I`ve given all my rifles a session on the pigeons except for my HW 100 KS .22 , so out it went today for a good 4 hours. Visiting birds and presentations were slow today but I must say lads, credit were it`s due, the Falcon Accuracy Plus pellet/ HW 100 combination made very short work of the presentations I got. Those Falcon`s are deadly accurate and really hit home " hard" ! ( Thanks for the nudge Mitch ) atb Mark.

  6. I didn't fancy lamping tonight so snook out at about 2.30pm for the last couple of hours on the mixy perm I was on last weekend. There wasn't much sign of anything in the usual places but I had a walk up to the top fields that horses are usually in but they had been moved and spotted a couple of coneys from a distance. From where I was sitting, the opposite fence was at 46 yards so that gave me an easy 1 mil dot holdover and when the first one came out he didn't know what hit him. Lovely shot placement but he had got early signs of mixy, eye closing up etc. After a 15 min

  17. Not too familiar with them I hope.... We get our meat direct from farmers with butcher's shops, Perfick Pork at Great Rybrugh who do the world's best black puddings and Russell's at Outwell, mainly poulterers but they do raise pork beef and lamb. Both farms do not use antibiotics in the feed, in fact both farms grow their own food. The beef that Perfick Pork sell is Glaven Herd grass fed Aberdeen Angus, which is sold at a price less than you would pay for crap out of the supermarket, both shops know how to treat meat and hang it for the right amount of time. Milk comes from Abbey

  21. I agree with Mitch, change your pellets. In .22 the Falcon accuracy Plus shoot well in most guns or AA Fields / JSB Exacts We all buy loads of pellet makes / types and test them at the ranges we shoot as this is the ONLY way to see which pellet produces the best grouping on paper. Once you find which is the best pellet for your gun, stick with them. If your pal uses another pellet that doesn't mean it will give the best performance in your gun so always test for your own gun. Rest your gun on a bean bag or bipod and either shoot from a stable bench or prone on the ground in ord

Not being funny but we educated them on racism and then now they use it to get job positions and able to say what they like. If you want an example dianne abbot. Thick as f**k racist me mentally unhinged. And in a job where she gets a huge salary. Now we come to schools. My teachers were proper teachers. Teachers these days are liberal to the extreme. Drilling into kids heads what "they" think is right basically undermining the parents. Ah f**k it

  29. When i put these pictures up yesterday i wondered if anyone would notice that the trap was placed the wrong way round , the reason i did this was back in the 60/70s i went out a few times with three old lads who done nothing except Rabbit Trapping and Long Netting, they lived in Norfolk and they had massive areas to work on , they used mainly IMBRA and FENN traps ,the jaws on the FENN were rounded i think they may have been an early model and the IMBRA was of a type that i had not seen before. The first place i ever went was called Wolferton not far from Sandringham and it was a Railway

  34. Firstly, a goose has a huge amount of feathers and even shotgun loads don't always get through but more than this, geese are NOT a bird on the general list for air rifle shooting. I know geese have been shot with air rifles but you need to be very close taking a head shot but in all honesty..................................leave well alone. It sounds like you need more experience to gain the accuracy rather than gun tuning and that means 'range time' to get to the level you want. Many of the members on here are able to hit a 10p coin at 60 - 70 yds but that doesn't mean they will shoot li

  40. I think a few schools in the UK are cottoning on to the “trade” side of educating kids. I am a big defender of educators. I think they work bloody hard, much of it in their own time and in many cases against the odds. See, when I was a kid I was the problem kid with the massive chip on my shoulder...expelled at 14 after being an absolute dick for years and making life hell for everyone I came into contact with. So, at 14 it was time to work, it was just me and my mum so that was a wake up call and I had to screw my loaf. Move forward 14 years and I had just started a y

Totally agree with the above, getting close and knowing your subject and its behaviour/patterns will go such a long way, short bursts of say 10-15 shots then maybe recompose should stand you in good stead... This LEO had been studied for a couple weeks, learned and observed where and when it hunted and its habits which included landing on this perch every evening of only for a matter of seconds/minutes.... knowedge, field craft and a hefty bit of luck paid a huge part, also the use of a pop up dome hide was essential for capturing this image
