Had my godson Matt over for the weekend, he was hell bent on a bit of hunting... not wanting to be a let down, me and fin had him lamping last night. The dogs ran well not much out but Fergie had 3 runs and 3 rabbits, Martha had a couple of runs for 1.. Matt was slipping Martha and Fin lamped a couple.. great stuff from the kids. up 7 this morning for a mornings ferreting, picked up a nice bit of new permission, the woman farmer is great and joined us for a couple of hours and was really hands on.. she kept lurchers for years and is a proper country woman, I've had a couple of cups of co7 points

Put the 100 to work today after giving her a zero check. She is on a perfect zero at 38 yards. I went back to one of my favourite natural hides, - range, 38 yards. Here`s the view I have before the camo netting is raised up. Here`s an adjoining tree. Kaiser retrieving to hand Come on lad ! Well done ! Poser ! A nice testing session lads. When Kaiser has been in a hide, he hasn`t worked much, so again tonight on landing home I take him straight out for an hour on a6 points

I guess some people might find this spooky but it's not to me When was a kid a childhood friend who started me in Hunting ,fishing died while out with his dog. not going to say how he died as it wasn't a nice way to go and his dog was never found I'll call him jack for this post as don't wanna use his real name . some people say suicide, I personally don't believe it I think it was a accident . but any way the spot he died is a big tunnel. Every time I pass through the Tunnel I always say what I'm doing jack , ( I'm just going fishing wish me luck ) anyway one5 points

I used to take the occasional rabbit with this years ago. It was a very task specific tool though . Only used at a particular location that was semi-derelict industrial land. In parts heavily overgrown with thick gorse and bramble but with a very healthy rabbit population. An ideal place to let the dogs run off a bit steam.. All the planets had to be in alignment when a rabbit hoped out of cover. Most importantly I needed to be 100% sure of the location of the dogs so that there was no danger of them running in. Usually the rabbit that showed would not be the one that the dogs were huntin5 points

Keep the 510 and flog the Galahad - there'll be enough money in that for a very nice back-up springer and some change5 points

Out this morning with a battle plan in mind, to climb out high onto the tops and push any rabbits down into the heather beds below, I drew the short straw,so off I went up and up and up again, this was taken half way up, on my way there were rabbits running all over this lime stone scree bed, they know there safe here, after a lung busting, leg burning, trip I reached the top to be met by rabbits cascading down the fell side right into the deep heather beds below, so far so good. I slowly started to make my way down and soon had the both baskets of longnets ran out round the heather,4 points

Alright Davy. Fair point about the RFD. But why not? If you don't mind me asking. I get it may be something you've both agreed on, no problems, fine, but just asking why not.. when you may find something youve not shot before... and could show the subs something new. You can't disagree that what got you into shooting 'tuned' rifles was indeed, knowledge from someone you know or perhaps having a fettle in someway or another on your own rifles. There is no way you or si got to the standard you both shoot at from "buying high end" from the start... you need to know how a shocking4 points

Looks like you got it spot in pal? And at least your not having to suffer your sister in law who thank God himself only comes one every Preston guild so I have been "asked" (we all know what that means) if I would be polite and stay home this evening. I think the dog is going to get a bloody big walk tonight or I will end up trying to chew my own ears off so I don't have to listen to the insufferable b*#@ocks that 2 grown ass women can entertain themselves talking about . But back to your evening Jimmy......... It's nicely ready for the next time you go out and forget all y3 points

You won't see it on the BBC - a peaceful demonstration by white working class heterosexual males - god forbid The media and government will be too scared that this could catch on all over the country if it's publicised. ........ They'll be scared that they'll actually have to do something if this grows3 points

Rez may be right Davy lads like Si Brown the lad can tune a rifle with his eyes closed and he will say HE ONLY DOSE HIS OWN OR CLOSE FRIENDS . But iv shot both fsf and si,s rifles and si,s top the sfs hands down His 97ks is some thing to be holed iv tuned loads of 97,s and iv been happy with them but si,s is the best iv ever had the pleasure to shoot . YES SFS ARE GOOD BUT THERE ARE SOME LADS OUT THERE THAT ARE BETTER AND THEY DO IT IN A SHED AND SOME WITH NEXT TO NO GEAR JUST WHAT THEY HAVE AT HAND . THEN YOU HAVE CHARLIECALLER THE MANS A LEGEND AT TUNING BU3 points

Yes i do enjoy watching their channel and reviews but i am with REZ on this ,some of the so called shed tuners can do a better job .. It just would be nice to see a side by side review ,instead of SFS tune . It's become a bit like the airgun mags ,nothing is said bad about a gun they review . IMO this has become the same with Si and Davy with SFS . I have nothing against them at all ,they do a brilliant job for the airgun community new and old and like i said i do enjoy watching the channel3 points

There is far too much blaming teachers & the education system & not enough personal responsibility admitted by parents & lazy twats like myself. I've had this argument a lot over the years, often with people I went to school with that thought out school was poor. Our school was the only secondary school in town, so we had pupils from all backgrounds from lower working class impoverished families to middle class kids that didn't get sent out of town by their parents. Most like myself were ordinary working class kids from decent enough backgrounds. The kids that invariably3 points

Local Stillwater, my 2 fish came with 2 casts into the same swim on a 3D real Eel. Tsteve999 then had one on a trout live bait from same swim 10 mins later. He then drew level just before we packed up in another swim on another livebait. The real skill is in lure fishing! Lol2 points

dont think anyones saying the rifle is sh1t Renos even a sh1t hot shot cant be consistently good with a crap rifle, the only thing ive ever heard anyone complain about is the trigger and mark with the stock router! tuning rifles to be more user friendly can only be a good thing especially when you hunt with them,, the only thing ive got with the super tuners is the pricing structure, most can be sorted within a couple of hours and parts to do it can cost as little as £3 if you have to buy washers.. to say £40 if springs and seals are changed the majority of top end spring2 points
-
I think the point Jimmy and Mitch are trying to make Renos is that even a great out of the box rifle can be made better by a clean and polish of the internals let alone a tune. That modification will be felt by a complete novice or a great marksmen. Regarding using a tuned rifle against a stereotypical cheap quality one, it's like asking someone to shoot Free hand balancing on one leg to learn to shoot. It's not the best way. It's not the correct technique so we do it properly, from a rest using proper technique. The same applies to how a rifle SHOULD come out of the factory. In an ideal world2 points

I've known it to take more than two years WILF. Both my wife and I have post-grad educations but we both firmly believe that it's not the be all and end all of a happy life. My wife often tells my son that "people always need plumbers, electricians etc" and I'd much rather that he was a happy bin man than a miserable merchant banker. My daughter's going to be a faerie princess!2 points

I completely agree. I know there are probably a lot of completely safe games out there that won't effect my kids negatively but the flip side of the coin is that I've taught a six year old girl who uses the f word because she's allowed to play Grand Theft Auto. Last week my son asked if he could have "one of those things that you can play games on which all the other kids in my class have got?" I pointed out that, while he could argue he was missing out in that department, he could also say he's the only kid in his class with his own knife and catapult.2 points

So while talking to Jimmy/bigmac about the pellets etc, I asked for his advice on a new suppressor for my R10 as I m not happy with it. Both my 100's were quieter so I asked what he would recommend bearing in mind it's a supercarbine so something chunky wouldn't fit. Expecting a sensible and honest answer I waited and after a little while I was sent some pics of a swift stumpy modular.....and a request for address and post code!!!!! My request for his bank details were met with a typical Jimmy style response, including, as you can imagine the word twat!!!! And within half an hour it2 points

Only getting round to making this video now from the end of September. I had a day on barley stubble shooting corvids and had a great day passing 3 figures. Birds decoyed lovely and I shot decent also with lots of doubles as you'll see in the video. It was also memorable due to the amount of Grey Crows I managed to shoot in the process.2 points

A calculated risk, at the end of the day it's a personal choice, the bitch was fit and well so I went for it. It's the only time I've had to have a C section with this bitch, it didn't break the bank at £150 so I'm not complaining.2 points

A product of the "everyone deserves to go to university" mentality pushed by social justice bollocks. People that go to Uni and do a solid degree come out to a market offering half decent graduate positions. All of my peers are in professional positions because they did a course that had value to employers. We're not rich and not many of us are likely to ever be but we're doing okay. Bin the attitude of "everyone deserves to go to uni" and the associated "uni should be free" and help high school kids make informed realistic decisions on their lives. The idealism needs to be f****d off.2 points
