Can a fox chew through "chicken wire" as I am just about to net in the area I have for the chooks and I have got chicken wire does it need "doubling" up?

Has any one got experiance of foxes chewing the wire and getting in?

Thanks for that I will double it up and put some wood around the bottom. Better to be safe than sorry.

If a fox wants in then double chicken wont stop it, how high is the fence, the boards might only help it to get over, there are a load of plots near me, and beleive me they will get in.
Better put the boards a good few feet under the ground mate, and use tougher wire.

OK

Its hard to explain but I have a rectangle about 15ft x 6ft bricks up to about 2 to 2.5ft high around and metal framing all around as though someone has tryed to grow grapes or something. So a fox would have to stand on his back legs to even look in. So I thought if I could put some wood on top of the bricks so he would not see in then net the rest.

Anyway I will put some pics up once the chooks are in place and you will see what I mean its hard to explain when you are as thick as me.

I will try and make it harder to get in than colditz :victory:
