I've devised a list of questions.
  • How Much Was This Year's Entrance Fee?
  • £14 Saturday, £16 Sunday
  • How Long Did It Take To Get Into The Grounds?
  • Started queueing at around 7.45am, got into car park (muddy field) at 8.10.
  • What Were Your Opinions/Dealings With The Security/Stewarding Staff, Like?
  • Most of them, no idea, they didn't speak English. The one guarding the toilets by the T+L ring/Airgun site was useless, when asked where the camp site was or which car park was which, his reply was ............. "Dunno mate am only here for the weekend" :wallbash:
  • How Much Was A Pint?
  • Don't know, I don't drink and was driving anyway
  • How Much Was A Burger?
  • Between £3 and £4
  • Was There Any Hunting Gear On Sale (i.e discounted?)

  • Yes quite a bit for a change, Deerhunter gear was 1/3 off on a stall, boots reduced etc, no complaints on that score which is unusual!
  • What Was The Ratio Of Fieldsports Equipment Versus Cheap Tools And Plastic Toys?
  • Plenty of crap around as always, have the organisers no integrity? All stalls should be hunting related IMHO
  • What Were The Camping Facilities Like?
  • I didn't camp but did have the misfortune to have to try and find the campsite, which was miles away from the main site, and not f*****g sign posted or shown on any of the maps!!!
  • At Any Time During The Weekend Were The Facilities Reduced To The Point Where Using Them Was A Major Inconvenience?
  • Horrible, big queues and stinky by Saturday afternoon.
  • Do You Feel That The Prices You Paid Were Too High/Average/Less Than Average?
  • Admission, food, drinks were all well overpriced
  • On A Scale Of 1 (Low) To 10 (High) How Would You Rate Your Midland Game Fair Experience?
  • 3. Luckily I was with 2 very good mates so we had a good day in spite of the show, but the actual show was a disappointment
  • Would You Visit The Midland Game Fair Again?
  • Not likely, and like all unhappy customers I'll be telling as many people as I possibly can why not.
They've claimed to be interested in our thoughts and opinions so here's the chance to stick it to them!

Warmest Regards
Chris 'You'll Never See Me In Your Poxy Fair Again' Jones.

unfortunatly all this has been done and said before, dont know if anyone can remember ian hartford and or his sister joining moochers a couple of years ago after a deligation of lurcher and terrier people had complained at the show about the way the lurcher and terrier people were treated.
They posted on moochers then, much the same as what they are saying now,hey guess what nothing has changed!!!
Theirs and CMW answer to this was to throw £1000 at the winners.
How is this going to solve anything?? all they are doing is leaving themselves wide open to show fixing and to let a championship judge demand he judges on his own, that just says it all.
Also this year not only did they not bother to provide toilets, water or food stands anywhere near the lurcher events.the racetrack for the lurchers was dangerous.
Its no good coming on here with these false promises ,its all been said before.People should stick together and boycott this show if they are not prepared to listen and act.Hit them in the pocket, its the only language they understand.
Anyone who did go on the sunday,go to the pride of the peaks next year in protest.

Not just in protest mate, go to the P.O.T.P. show because it is a cracking day out, well attended by proper dog lads with proper working dogs.

yeah your right SS.
wouldnt be hard to organise a great big hunters shindig over at p.o.t.p,the kennel and hunting traders could maybe stand there at a fraction of the cost of the midland and all the lads and lasses could go there instead.
im sure p.o.t.p would even provide a toilet :clapper: lets be fair p.o.t.p has already proved itself to be a good day out and is well supported by the lurcher and terrier lads. Why the hell are people still going to the midland year after year to be treated like crap and ripped off.
However i have had some brillient weekends at the midland, only because of the craic and the company,NOT CREDIT TO THE MGF.
just the lads and lasses from all over the uk that meet up there.

I've been visiting the midland game fair for the past 12 years and after this years episode that's it for me.
I went to the midland on the Saturday then on to the pride of the peaks on the Sunday. The pride of the peaks was a much better run show, the racing ground was fantastic, The organisers were helpful and friendly, everyone there had a smile on there face and unsurprisingly they were all commenting on how much better it was to the midland.
Well folks i think we should all vote with our feet this year and boycott the midland. The trade stands at the midland who weren't impressed this year should stand at the pride of the peaks i'm sure they would do much better. Plus they won't be ripped off with extortionate pitch prices at the midland.
I for one will be promoting the pride of the peaks and will be camping there next year. a thoroughly enjoyable show organised by true dog men and women who know how to run a show

RIP midland game fair

Well..... i had not been for several years and its gone down the pan.
The only good thing is that there was a large group of us and we all gooned about the whole time. If we were to have gone there to actually do anything other than this i would have been disapointed.
From what i saw the "tat" stalls were empty, so god only knows how they make a profit, and lets hope this will stop them going next year.
The MGF is simply too big for its own good, too commercial and run by people who have no idea what the "punter" wants.
As for "nowhere" to put the T&L ring, well, below the big silly blue slide there wa sa huge field with a couple of oak trees on. This was dry and well capable of housing it...and, more importantly, it was next to the main show.

The show was a joke, but then again, we only went for the laugh..,..i feel sorry for people who went for "the day out"

I for one will take my stand to the POTP next year, dont get me wrong I did make a bit of money, but I had three young lads all mad keen on hunting with me and to be honest I felt sorry for the poor little bugers running back and forth all day will terreir boxes for customer I couldn't expect them to carry them themselves but if I had known that the distances they would have to go I wouldn't have asked them to do it in the first place, I did some runs myself to give the lads a break and it pissed me off, but apart form that some one has to make the first move and I would like to think that other traders will follow, though I feel most will play it safe, so stuff the midlands and put me down fo a patch of grass at POTP and I will do my best to provide what people need

We supported and invested money and time in this show for 6 yrs, only to turn up to a sham and a con, we certainly wont be attending again and I sincerely hope the countrymans weekly pulls out of the midland .

I have emailed the midland and have yet to get a reply.

don't blame the countryman's any one who puts up 3k sponsorship deserver's a pat on the back, its the MGF its self who made the decision to place the T&L Rings were they did with a bit of thought it could have been relocated in several areas , i was not aware of the Sunday morning fiasco with the breakfast bar toilets etc, the logistics of a show this size are a nightmare but with the experienced staff are Friend claims to have this should not have been a problem ,its all down to priority and i do not care what the MFG says the T&L ARE NOT UP THERE , at the end of the day its up to you your self to vote with your feet and boycott the midland , and the countryman's to take there championship to a venue centered around T&L PEOPLE the Midland has lost sight of what a game fair is all about thats there problem the trade stands that are normally around the T&L ring suffered too and should lobby the MGF as to why the were not located next to the ring , it all smells of they could not give a flying fooook to me but with the attendance they got paying :gunsmilie: £14 on sat andT&L added tax £16 on the Sunday :gunsmilie: they wont miss us , its up to Tracy Allen to make the decision to move the countryman's championships no one else :bye: :bye: THE MIDLAND
