hi
got 2 lurcher pups a few days ago, one for us one for inlaws, they came off a farm, they are about 3 1/2 months old.
ours has had the runs, i wormed them last night, not sure what the tablets as i chucked all the wrapping in the fire...
anyway got up this morning and ours had had a major crap which was full of worms, he been fine all day but has just had another runny crap which had blood in it? is this normal after a worming if he had a lot of worms? apart from this he is fine, just a lively as the other pup with a great appetite.
cheers

Well the worms are better out than in! Where did you get the wormer from? Using Drontal Plus is better than the stuff from the pet shop/supermarkets. It is cheap to buy on the internet and should be used regularly as instructed to help healthy development of your pups.

the wormer was off a mate who keeps working dogs, not sure of brand as i binned the packaging...
Perhaps you could check with your mate who keeps running dogs? Did he breed the pups? A good worming regime helps set them up to thrive. Drontal is available online. Check out sites like WormersUK.

wormer was drontal , mate didnt breed them , they came from a friend of a friends farm , they were wormed but he said they could do with another dose...
the wormer seemed to have worked as there were loads in his crap, just wondered if it normal to have some blood after a dose of worms?
cheers

I wouldn't worry too much as long as it is not bleeding now. If it passed such a big load of worms it was probably just the after effects of the worm dose and maybe the change of diet and excitment of going to a new home. Get it settled on a good quality diet and keep up the worming regime with Drontal.
