They arent allowed to be shot now, But I was wondering has anyone tried them when people used to eat them?

They are now a protected bird but if you want to see 100's of them get to n yorks on a summers evening as it is setting!!! quite amazing if you hit the right place.

A friend of mine used to eat them. He'd put a rabbit in the pot with the curlew to take some of the strong flavour out of the bird.
