Iv been trying to get an image say my dog and turning it black and white (saturated) then desaturating(?) it so that certain parts are in colour. I have Photoshop elements 6 and cant find the brush for removing the saturation to reveal the cover. Does anyone know if they're is an alternative to doing this? or does it just not do it?
Cheers

I'm not familiar with the elements program, but if it does have a history brush then that is one way of doing it. Desturate the whole image, using whatever method you prefer, then simply use the history brush to bring back the colour in the choosen areas.
Another method is to create a copy layer, paste it on the image, desaturate the layer, then use the eraser to remove areas of the black and white layer so that the colour shows through.
Alternatively, select the areas that you want left in colour using the free selection tool, then invert the selection and desaturate the rest of the image. This is a bit of a fiddle though!
Hope this helps :)
