Im seriously thinking of getting some more hens to go with the six i have though i read its not good to introduce extra hens to an already stable environment.
Is this right? would it not be a good idea to just to go out and buy another 4 or 6 and put them in with the others.

I've never had any problem adding to my flock, I normally put the new girls in a seperate pen for a week or so where the exsisting flock can see them. Other than a day or so squabbling while they sort the pecking order out they integrate fine when I let them mix.
Have done this on 4 or 5 introductions of 2 or 3 birds.

Hi,

I have always introduced my new hens at night, into the hen house, when they are resting, and I have yet to have a problem with introductions, hope this helps !?!

Cheers,

Tom
