we're looking to hunt rabbits with .22 air rifles, in and around the bedfordshire area. we are beginners but have good grasp of gun safety and control. we are both 20 yrs old, and are looking to improve our shooting.

i am getting a brand new CO2 22 air rifle tomorrow the http://sportsmk.co.uk/item/363/ it is the cheapest CO2 rifle on sale. because i cant afford anything else if any of you have had one and it has done well or has broken instantly seeing as it is costing me £140 i expect it to last at least four years because it will take me that long to save for a new one. or if that is a really bad air rifle i will consider buying a http://sportsmk.co.uk/item/362/ if neither of these are a good idea then please tell me what is best for me, all that i am using it for is target and occasionally shooting small game such as wood pigeon, rabbit, pheasant or for pest control. also i am getting a new scope http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/mvf/store/products/richter-scope-3-9x50-aoe it should be a good scope but for the money i am not so sure i do not really know that much about scopes as i have only had one for a few months but i let my friend use the rifle and he dropped it from twenty feet up a tree and bent the scope and i tried to bend it back but of course it snapped!!!. so seeing as i am going to be in debt to my dad for a week i would like it to be worth it, i have to borrow the money from my dad and earn it sweeping up a work site and i don't much want that if the air rifle is going to break or is inaccurate at long range so any answers to any of my questions would be greatly appreciated.

    .cheers. :signthankspin:

wanted purse nets i need them 3 ft nylon is best but i will take anything an someone please reply to this one. or email me, i would prefer free but whatever, its my first time and i need them for this Christmas so whatever you have if it works its good.cheers.

  2. Not been doing much lately, just the odd bit of fishing & trying to knock the lurcher into some sort of shape ready for the upcoming season with some fitness & obedience training.

My beddy/whippet is 3 now, and what's become apparent is that he's severely lacking in the brain department! He still seems very puppyish and tends to overlook things in his excitement.

Well this upcoming season is his final chance as my first choice rabbiting dog. He needs to calm down when in the field & start taking direction from me when he's out. He won't be going anywhere, but if he hasn't shown marked improvement by seasons close, I will be looking to replace him with something else.

After being so frustrated by his lack of intelligence, I think my next choice will deffo have a healthy splash of collie somewhere in the mix....

    Watch this space.

Chester and Earl are going hunting. Chester says to Earl, "I'll send my dog out to see if there are any ducks out in the pond. If there aren't any ducks out there, I'm not going hunting."

So he sends the dog out to the pond. The dog comes back and barks twice. Chester says, "Well I'm not going to go out. He only saw two ducks out there."

Earl says, "You're going to take the dog's barks for the truth?" Earl doesn't believe it, so he goes to look for himself. When he gets back he says, "I don't believe it where did you get that dog? There really are only two ducks out there!"

Chester says, "Well, I got him from the breeder up the road. If you want, you can get one from him, too."

So Earl goes to the breeder and says he wants a dog like the one his friend Chester has. The breeder obliges and Earl brings the dog home, tells it to go out and look for ducks. Minutes later the dog returns with a stick in it's mouth and starts humping Earl's leg.

Outraged, Earl takes the dog back to the breeder and says, "This dog is a fraud. I want my money back!"

The breeder asks Earl what the dog did. So Earl tells him that when he sent the dog out to look for ducks, it came back with a stick in its mouth and started humping his leg.

The breeder says, "Earl, all he was trying to tell you was that there are more f*****g ducks out there than you can shake a stick at!"

hi i am new to all this ive wanted a hunting dog 4 a long time and today i got 1 he is a 15 monthold lurcher called pepsi and he is a great 4 hunting deers, foxes, rabbits, hares so im looking 4 some equipment at no silly prices if u have any please call 02392357541

  7. Well a first today, my first permission, phoned a few farmers up and got nowhere, there was one who had rabbits and was in when I called, but had a family that loved shooting so no joy there, however they knew of a landowner with a rabbit problem, 1 call later and I got her last permissions! Hooray so now the bunnies can say hello to rapid deliveries from Edgar.

The wife then decided she did not want to take her Diana into the field and get it covered with mud, grass, grit or whatever it got dropped in, so she decided she was going to have a new gun to plink with. Rang up a gunsmith in Attleborough and he recommended a Hatsan 60S, the same gun that Edgar is, new gun, a Hawke 2-9x40 scope, under £130! What a bargain! So that is being picked up tomorrow, along with a new scope for Edgar, he will be pleased!

So will keep this updated as to when we go, how we do, watch out for photos of duff bunnies! Hopefully!

Hello - am a newbie on this forum. Am based on the Suffolk coast, owning 2 lurchers - one retired old girl (still as keen as mustard, but age has taken its toll), and a younger 18 month old bitch. I would be interested to hear from other folk in the local area. I seem to see numerous lurchers, but I think the majority are owned merely as pets. Look forward to hearing from people working their dogs in the local area.
